unit 3_Chinese Pinyin Rules and Pinyin Table

In this video, I introduced the pinyin table and listed 5 pinyin rules for you to master all the combinations in the pinyin table.

These 5 pinyin rules are:

Rule 1: "Consonant + Vowel" pattern
Rule 2: The exception to Rule 1 (12 vowels that can individually represent the sounds of Mandarin Chinese characters)
Rule 3: 9 "Consonant + Vowel" combinations with unique pronunciation
Rule 4: 16 "Consonant + Vowel" combinations in which the two dots ( ¨ ) above the vowel symbol ü should be omitted
Rule 5: Where to put the tone mark on the consonant and vowel combinations

Before you learn the combinations of the consonants and vowels in the pinyin table, you need to learn the Chinese consonant and vowels at first.

Unit 2.4_Pronunciation: Chinese Tones

This video is the instruction for pronouncing the Mandarin Chinese tones.

There are 5 tones in Mandarin Chinese: first tone, second tone, third tone, fourth tone, and fifth tone.
In Hanyu Pinyin, each of these tones has an individual tone mark except the fifth tone which is the neutral tone and has no tone mark.

In this video, you can learn that each tone has a unique pitch value process and characteristic. And also, you can practice the tones with me. If you want more practice, you can also watch the other video "Tone Practice".
