Learn how to say numbers in Mandarin Chinese_Part 2: 10 to 9999


Hi Everyone! 大家好!
In this lesson, you will learn how to say the numbers from 10 to 9999 in Mandarin Chinese.

Before you start this lesson, you need to have the ability to say the numbers from 0 to 9 in Mandarin Chinese.  That will help you have a better understanding of this lesson.

Here is the structure of this lesson:

Part 1:  Introduction of what you need to know to say the numbers 10 to 9999 in Mandarin Chinese

(1)  how to say the numbers 0 to 9 in Mandarin Chinese
(2)  three Mandarin Chinese characters:  千, 百, 十
(3)  Rules for how to say the digits 0, 1, 2 in the numbers 10 to 9999

Part 2:  Introduction of three Mandarin Chinese characters:  千, 百, 十

Part 3:  Learn how to use the four red circles and the three characters:  千, 百, 十  when saying the numbers 10 to 9999

(1)  four digit numbers
(2)  three digit numbers
(3)  two digit numbers

Part 4:  Learn the rules for how to pronounce the numbers which contain the digits 0, 1, and 2

(1 )  Rule for digit 0
(1.1)  the units corresponding to the red circles with the digit 0 inside.
(1.2)  when there is more than one digit 0, together in a cluster.
(1.3)  when the digit 0 or a cluster of zeroes is at the end of a number.

(2)  Rule for digit 1
(2.1)  the digit 1's positions and pronunciations within the four red circles
(2.2)  the exception to the rule for the digit 1 in the numbers from 10 to 19 in Mandarin Chinese

(3)  Rule for digit 2
(3.1)  the digit 2's positions and pronunciations within the four red circles
